Resume

  • Lead Software Developer

    Sept '19 - Aug '23

My primary focus at the company was centered around the development and expansion of our React and MUI based flagship product, MedWatcher.io. I proactively collaborated with the product management team to enhance requirements and specifications, and I augmented the efforts of our designers to improve the UI/UX. Notably, I take pride in the creation of our versatile questionnaire system, customized chart components, and the development of the frontend of our white-label solution.

Alongside my daily responsibilities, I worked on refactoring our code for improved readability and maintainability. I initiated and implemented a NodeJS-project dedicated to SEO pages and leveraged my influence to transition from a broken, hard-coded website to a more flexible Wordpress platform. Additionally, I championed the integration of regular A/B tests into our sprint cycles.

  • Senior Software Developer

    Jan '16 - Aug '19

We streamlined a fragmented system of all insurance related landing pages by consolidating them into a centralized platform. We customized the CMS code to leverage Drupal as an editor, enabling the deployment of optimized HTML to the web server for enhanced security and performance. This approach considerably accelerated the development process and resulted in a perfect Google PageSpeed ranking.

As we surpassed the incoming requirements from various departments, we seized the opportunity to proactively identify and address potential roadblocks. Our efforts led to significant improvements in the efficiency of content editors, further streamlining their tasks.

  • CEO

    Nov '14 - Sep '15

Together with a close friend with decades of experience in the restaurant business, I embarked on the exciting venture of trying to establish the first fully vegan franchise system. Taking charge of planning, orchestrating fundraising efforts, and leading the team in developing our franchise prototype were among my key responsibilities.

Regrettably, due to a lack of financial planning, lackluster fundraising and one major misstep the company filed for bankruptcy shortly after my departure. This experience served as a good, while expensive, reminder that while knowing your strength is important not understanding your limitations can easily be critical.

  • Senior PHP Developer

    Nov '11 - Aug '14

Our team was entrusted with the task of maintaining and building upon a legacy system while expanding the website into new languages and markets. I proactively identified areas for improvement and advocated for the adaption of a modern framework which was integrated into our workflow shortly before my departure.

  • PHP Developer

    Aug '08 - Oct '11

I began my journey with the organization as a member of the tools team, contributing to the development and implementation of software solutions to efficiently handle the extensive server infrastructure supporting browser-based games. Demonstrating my capabilities and ethical principles, I earned the trust of management and, by April '10, successfully transitioned to the payment department.

In this new role, I collaborated closely with local management and tech teams across diverse countries, integrating local payment methods.

  • Java Developer

    Nov '01 - Aug '08

As part of my role, I undertook the creation of reusable components using Java Swing. Simultaneously, I provided guidance and support to job trainees and actively troubleshooted a highly buggy system. Our primary objective centered around mapping a complex flow of forms and responsibilities within legally compliant public bidding processes. To achieve this, we designed a custom XML-based file format, constantly adapting to an ever-expanding list of requirements.
